Ancients considered cats to be the reincarnation of Bastet, goddess of sun and life. Mummified cats have been found in the tombs of Egypt buried in cat-shaped sarcophagi, testifying to the level of regard that the ancients held for Bastet. Our Bastet is sculpted and cast using high quality designer resin, then hand painted in ebony with gold accents. Bastet wears the sacred scarab and earrings and is portrayed in great detail.
