Our sculpture is a 12.25" replica of the 40ft tall statue of Zeus at Olympia about 435 BC. The statue was perhaps the most famous sculpture in Ancient Greece.

Zeus was the god of the sky and thunder and even though he was married to Hera, he is known for his erotic escapades. His trysts resulted in many famous offspring, including Athena, Apollo and Artemis, Hermes, Persephone, Dionysus, Perseus , Heracles, Helen, Minos, and the Muses (by Mnemosyne); by Hera he is usually said to have sired Ares , Hebe and Hephaestus.

His Roman counterpart was Jupiter, and his Etruscan counterpart was Tinia.
