Hades ruled the dead, assisted by others over whom he had complete authority. He strictly forbade his subjects to leave his domain and would become enraged when anyone tried to leave, or tried to steal the souls from his realm. His wrath was equally terrible for anyone who tried to cheat death or otherwise crossed him.Because of his dark personality, he was not especially liked by either the gods or the mortals. He was not, however, an evil god, although he was stern, cruel, and without pity, he often used fair judgment. Our tribute to this Greek god is a replica of the famous statue of Hades with his three-headed guard dog, Cerberus that is currently at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. Measures: 11.25" H, this well done statue is sculpted from bonded marble. |
