Aphrodite to the Greeks, Venus to the Romans, she was the goddess of love and beauty. Venus was so hot, she attracted both gods and mortals! Despite her beauty, she had her problems, namely her husband, the lame god of fire, Hephaestus. Her true love was Ares - Mars, the god of war. Unto this union was born the beautiful goddess Harmonia. Hephaestus exposed them to the gods at Mt. Olympus by spinning them into a strong invisible net. Our Roman representation of the two lovers is incredibly detailed and sculpted from bonded marble. Measures 15" size with a substantial weight and feel. |
